Making It Work

Clothes Line
Sometimes when money is tight and you want something, you just find a way to make it work. I’ve wanted a clothes line for awhile because I hate running the drier on 90+ degree days. Luckily I have a partner who is more then willing to spend a few hours to dig a couple holes for me while I catch up on homework.

putting up the clotheslineThe clothesline is a bit jerry-rigged but hey, it works! I might need to put a pole in the middle if the line ends up sagging too much (pulled it as taunt as we could!) but I am not going to worry about that too much right now.

The posts are from our former carport which was destroyed by a wind storm this past winter (which, who cares, we don’t own a car.) They were anchored into buckets of cement, so we just buried the buckets and used some triangular concrete blocks and spare rope we had laying around to anchor them further. The whole thing ended up costing a few hours of work and $4 (for the actual clothesline and clothespins.)

Next up… a root cellar?

(The clothesline is bisecting the yard like this because eventually we are going to be extending the garden straight across the yard behind it.)
