I'm above you, watching you harvest pole beans. Pass me a shield beetle please!

I know not everyone is a fan of spiders, and admittedly they can give me a serious case of the willies, but I appreciate them immensely as a garden-lurking predator. This one (a cat-faced spider I think?) has set up her perfect round web at the very top of one of my Hidasta Shield beans plants. I think she (he?) is quite lovely, as well as quite big, maybe a little bigger then a dime with all her legs together like this?

I’m going to go out later and see if I can’t catch a photo of her when she is in the center of her web for better identification.

Do you like spiders?

Better photo.
